Dr. Alfonso Rivera has earned the recognition of Stanford Who's Who for his extraordinary body of work.

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC, CANADA, December 24, 2009 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Dr. Alfonso Rivera has earned the recognition of Stanford Who's Who for his extraordinary body of work. As Chief of the Geological Survey of Canada for the Minister of Natural Resources he has routinely displayed the dedication required to be successful in the area of geologic research.

Alfonso joined the Geologic Survey of Canada as Chief Hydrogeologist in 1999. He has since authored and co-authored numerous publications in proceedings, scientific journals, technical reports and books. Among his list of responsibilities, he is in charge of research, managing people and international activities.

Involved in an enormous amount of activities in the scientific community, Dr. Rivera is also an Associate Professor who trains and supervises students at the University of Laval as well as the University of Quebec. In addition, he engages in many public speaking engagements and presentations, frequently in four languages. Alfonso speaks English, Spanish, French and German.

Dr. Rivera obtained his PhD in Quantitative Hydrogeology from the Paris School of Mines in 1990.

When he has some leisure time, Alfonso enjoys working out at the gym, running and singing.
