Linda Byron-Fortin Named Professional of the Year in Environmental Consulting
Linda Byron-Fortin, certified environmental auditor, specializes in permitting and compliance for the mining and forest industries

TIMMINS, ON, CANADA, October 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Linda Byron-Fortin, Director of Blue Heron Solutions for Environmental Management, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Environmental Consulting. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

As an environmental consultant and project manager with more than two decades of experience, Ms. Byron-Fortin specializes in the mining and forest industries. She serves as the director of Blue Heron Solutions for Environmental Management, a growing environmental consulting firm established in 2004. It excels in assisting resource-based industries in obtaining necessary permits for their operations, as well as working with the First Nation communities and mining companies. In addition, Blue Heron offers spill response products and sedimentation control supplies, along with training and education related to their use. Ms. Byron-Fortin manages an office of 14 full-time and five part-time employees. She also oversees environmental permitting projects and trains environmental practitioners.

In 1990, Ms. Byron-Fortin earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from Laurentian University. She is a certified environmental auditor and certified health and safety auditor. A member of the Ontario Mining Association, she intends to continue growing her company and expanding and diversifying its services in the years to come.
